EKU Soccer Falls At Home To Miami (OH) On Friday Afternoon



RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team fell to Miami (OH), 2-0, on Friday afternoon in Richmond.
 
The Colonels could not get anything going on the offensive end in the contest.
 
Miami (OH) (3-2-3) got on the board in the 13th

minute on a set piece.
 
Mercedes Schroer played a balled into the box off the free kick and Julia Hoffman connected with her foot to find the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.
 
The score held true into the half.
 
Jaimie Tottleben gave the RedHawks a 2-0 lead in the 46th minute.
 
The RedHawks out shot the Colonels 18-8 on the contest. Miami had nine shots on goal compared to the Colonels' three.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Marah Krick made seven saves on the match.
 
EKU caps off one of the best non-conference portions of their schedule in program history scoring a non-conference record 14 goals during non-conference play.
 
The Colonels open ASUN play next Thursday on the road at Florida Gulf Coast. The match will kick off at 7 p.m.
